The Military Order of Saint Martin of Tours is a secular religious group composed of Catholic military men, united and bound to vows of obedience, charity, and leadership.  These “Warrior Monks” are immersed in their respective military organizations, and as such, they influence change from within, call for the highest possible standards of ethical warfare, and lead by example as obedient disciples of Christ.  Their “lay” status keeps them in constant contact with the world, placing them “side by side with the best and the worst; the indifferent, the skeptic, the atheist.” (Pope Pius XII, 1958)  With unwavering determination, Warrior Monks seek to love the Lord “with their whole heart, with their whole soul and mind, and with all their strength.”  (Mk 12:30)  They are always willing to expose themselves to the enemy for the sake of Christ, as he says:  “Blessed are they who suffer persecution for the sake of justice, theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”  (Mt 5:10)
